Homemade pho for lunch.
Check out that bad boy. Graham cracker crumbs, vanilla Greek yoghurt, blueberries, strawberries, and almonds. Dessert deliciousness.
One of my biggest, if not THE biggest, dreams of my life is to become an archaeologist.
My friend and I applied to a bunch of field schools for the summer and miraculously got accepted to all of them.
Today, I sent in my acceptance to one of them.
It’s official: I’m going to Italy for 6 weeks to take part in an archaeological excavation.

So, my dad is a hoarder. Our basement looked like something from the television show. It was horrifying. Over the summer I took a week to clean it…well, organize it. The only thing he actually threw out were a few boxes of VHSes. Otherwise we have floor to ceiling bookcases with television series DVDs, movie DVDs, and books. We have an air hockey table, a big one, and I managed to clear it off, but now there’s stuff on it again. There was so much stuff that didn’t fit on the bookcases that the only place left to put the stuff was on the treadmill, which pissed me off.
But since his work was downsizing, we got the exercise bike back that he had donated. So that’s nice, though it’s one of those ones where you sit and have your legs out in front of you, instead of underneath like on a normal bike, and those ones hurt my back if I go for more than 30 minutes. But it was good enough. There was room to put a yoga mat down, but even then if I do certain positions I risk crashing into things.
Then last week my mother had enough of it (mostly because it was -40C weather and she didn’t want to go outside to go to the gym) and cleaned off the treadmill. Now, there was a problem that several years ago I kept trying to use it and it would short circuit the house. Lovely.
But as it turns out, it works! So I’ve been going on the treadmill for an hour most days (unless I have school + work on the same day). Unfortunately my eating hasn’t been the greatest, but it also hasn’t been terrible. I weighed myself this week and it’s ranged from 203-206, so instead of recording the ups and downs for this week, I’ll check my weight next week and see what it’s levelled out to.
The nice part is we have a HUGE big screen tv (though it’s like 10+ years old so it’s not HD or anything, but still awesome) so I can watch whatever I want (like I said, he hoards movies and television series. I have literally hundreds upon hundreds of selections; plus we have a PVR) and work out in my pajamas without having to brace myself for the cold weather.
Down 1.5 since a couple of weeks ago. Well…sort of.
Lady days hit and I went from 204.5 to 208.5, but the days are over and I’m down to 203.
Because, you know, life makes sense.
Yay weight loss!
